Where and when is it?

We will meet in Unterzögersdorf (Lower Austria) at UZlab... We start on Friday, July 4 in the afternoon. The Unconference will take place Friday, July 4 to Sunday, July 6, 2025.

What is it?

The UZlab is a cultural center located in a former fire station in the Unterzögersdorf district of the Stockerau municipality. With funding from the Federal Ministry of Culture, Education, Culture, and Sport (BMKÖS) for "Investments in Cultural Infrastructure," the building was renovated and reopened in 2023. Monochrom regularly hosts exhibitions and other events there. Therefore, we decided to hold monocon here in the beautiful Weinviertel region this year.


How to get to monocon?

UZlab is located around 30km north of Vienna, on the northern side of river Danube, in the municipality of Stockerau.

By plane

Via Vienna International Airport (VIE), take a rental car from there.

In case you want to arrive with your own Cessna: Stockerau Aerodrom (LOAU) is just 7 miles away. If you decide to land here, you will get a courtesy Fiat Cinquecento to get to UZlab. All that's required is that it be refueled afterward.

Via public transport

Take ÖBB train to Stockerau, located on the northbound train line 3 (S3, REX3) from Vienna to Retz/Niederretzbach/Hollabrunn/Stockerau. The S-Bahn to and from Vienna runs twice an hour, with an additional fast Regio Express (REX). Get your tickets here: OEBB. The last mile is a bit tricky, though.

By car

Map search: Tullnerstraße 97, 2000 Stockerau, Österreich. Take the northbound highway (A22), Exit 31 Stockerau-Nord. Continue to Stockerau. At the first roundabout, take the first exit, direction Unterzögersdorf, cross the railway track, pass under the highway and you will reach Unterzögersdorf after a mile. The destination is a yellow house on the right side of the street.

Where to stay?

Accommodation we can recommend:

  • You can camp in the backyard, but there is almost no infrastructure there, although we can offer a magnificent starry sky (well, at least for a big city nearby). Contact us, if you decide to do so. If you want to bring your own mobile palace, please check with us in advance, too.
  • Dreikönigshof Hopfeld: The family-run hotel in the center of Stockerau offers, among many other amenities, a Tesla charging station. Contact them directly.
  • Kaiserrast: A comfortable hotel. In short: a feel-good place where you'll feel like a king! They offer bicycles, so you can get to Unterzögersdorf in no time.
