When I was young
By Alex Lencicki

It came quiet, like a snow-owl, then I felt the CHUK CHUK CHUK hot like a fire and CHUCK CHUCK CHUCK through the years, down to the first acorn, and then I was taken away.

Who knew I had all that wood in me?
I was an acorn and then a sapling and then a tree and then the beginning of the CHUK CHUK CHUK CHUK and then a collapse of logs and sticks, and CHUK CHUK CHUK CHUK and then a woodpile, five-hundred logs strong and then even more so that we were all stumps CHUK CHUK CHUK CHUK, CHUK CHUK CHUK CHUK.
The more the CHUK CHUK CHUK the more focused I become.
And then together and burning and becoming even more and going up into the cold no longer wood no longer anything.

And that was the end of the CHUK CHUK CHUK and the beginning of the DROP DROP DROP but that's a story for another day.
