The
situation gets out of control. The unanimously agreed on plan to burn
the U.S. flag in a symbolic act is destined to fail. The material is fire-proof.
One of the Soviet-sympathisers is dragged across the field right after
the Americans have dug out the border post and locked it up in a white
Volkswagen (a ‘Nazi Machina’ according to Chrusov). The red
flag disappears. At this point memory of the incident dissolves.
