Why Rocket are still simply the best fokking live band
on this rotten planet.
Because they make you forget that the world is rotten. They shake you up
and make you grin, and if they ask if you’re wearing your dancing shoes you
know they’ve got all reason to.
Can I tell you what? I had a horrible day, 10 hours of work and little to
eat, had hardly the money to even make it into town on the bus, I was cranky
like a broken amp and if that’s not all, I had to deal with pouting friends.
Whatever.
I’ve bought them tickets but they didn’t want to go. Whatever.
At the venue however, after kicking about at the bar with a couple of
friendly faces I haven’t seen in a while, Rocket were ready to inject me with
love juice. The crowd has formed and were ready for them. I’m not a friend of
Music Press gobshite speak, so I’ll refrain from using it and cut it straight:
They made me
smile. I was sweating and my feet were sore, yet I couldn’t stop rocking
my entire body. Speedo looked at me with his spanish mustache and we clicked.
Could it be he remembered me from 4 years ago? Whatever, we’re smiling at each
other NOW and
we know we're thinking the same. We’re enjoying ourselves RIGHT NOW.

What do they do? I think it’s called Entertainment, and you can say
whatever the bleeding fuck you like, we all want to get entertained when we go
out. No sore story about McDonalds, if you don’t like it don't eat there. I
don’t eat there and that’s that, sorted. Now I want to forget all the ugly,
ugly things out there and have a good time. Religion is opium for the masses?
Rocket is better than religion because they additionally open your eyes.
I’m re-possessed by the might of the Rocket, and I think I can wrap it all up with what is probably the best thing that one could ever say about a band: They are worth every hard earned penny.
